Wassily Kandinsky "Holzschnitt für XXe Siecle"
Medium: original color woodcut. Catalogue reference Roethel 201. Executed for XXe Siecle (Issue No. 5-6) and published in 1939. An edition of 1000-1200 was planned but far fewer were actually published due to World War II, and many of those were lost. None were hand-signed and there were no later editions. Printed on cream wove paper and in good condition; there remains a small strip of glue residue at the very top of the sheet from where it was bound in. Sheet size 9 3/8 x 12 1/2 inches. This is the actual original print from XXe Siecle No. 5-6, published in Paris in 1939 by San Lazzaro. $1300

Medium: original woodcut. Catalogue reference Roethel 111. Printed under Kandinsky's supervision in 1938 for XXe Siecle (No. 3). Image size 6 1/2 x 8 1/4 inches, with full original margins. $900
